Not the rice part of the sushi, but the part with the ingredients should be dipped in the sauce. Otherwise, the rice may absorb all the sauce and disperse and also spoil the taste of the sushi. 'ROD' PROBLEM

When eating sushi, special chopsticks, called "hashi" in Japanese, are used. You may need to practice before going to a Japanese restaurant, as it is somewhat difficult to use.
